Asset Register

Overview

The asset register within xAssets Enterprise provides an easy to use interface for entering, finding, listing and analysing assets. The register is not in any way a separate part of the system but forms the hub of the system around which all features are based.

Asset entry is made easy with two separate techniques for defaulting data.

First you can use the intelligent defaulting mechanism which allows the setting up of defaults. Defaults can be across the board, specific to a category group (such as Computers, Vehicles) or specific to a category (such as Laptops, PCs, Hubs, Cars, Vans etc).

Alternatively you can set up an asset as a "Data Entry Template". These are not physical assets but are asset records which exist purely for creating new assets. So you can easily implement a specific set of defaults for commonly purchased assets.

A third alternative when creating assets is to clone an existing asset.

Searching is made easy with two search mechanisms. The Quick Search allows the entry of a single field to search by. The Full Search provides for comprehensive search and selection using any criteria.

The Asset Register includes extensive configuration options. The configurable system comprises menu items, menu categories, user profiles, user groups, queries, reports, charts and dashboards. All these items are configurable through the user interface to be quickly shaped to customer requirements.

Within queries you also have the capability to view an explorer style tree on the left side which allows the listing of assets against the category, cost centre, location etc tree structured hierarchies. Other tree views are being built in as customers request them. Queries also support Drill Down and multiple data types including Pie Charts, Bar Charts, Summary and Detail Tables.

The Asset Register also allows the storage of unlimited specification fields. These fields can store single valued, dropdown, number, date, lookup or multiple valued fields to any requirement, and can be used for both simple attributes and complex feeds such as sensor feeds, consumption data, and additional attributes including IT software or hardware information.
